Out of the Past Interview & Book Signing

Author Tamara L. Thayer joins Lenny on the Martin County Historical Society’s Out of the Past TV Show in Fairmont, Minnesota, to talk about her book, A Country Doctor Goes to War. Tamara shares the remarkable story of her grandfather, Dr. Ellsworth Thayer, and his experiences during World War II—exploring the journey of a country doctor who went from serving his community to serving his country during wartime.

A book signing was also held at the Pioneer Museum, and we were thrilled to see so many people attend both presentations and learn more about Dr. Thayer’s story and his service.

We recently celebrated the opening of our new Interactive Room at the Pioneer Museum with a ribbon cutting during the Business After Hours event we hosted, followed by an Open House.
